ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE (1859-1930)
- The Hound of the Baskervilles - Micah Clarke British writer born at Picardy Place, Edinburgh on 1859, he is the creator of Sherlock Holmes. Educated in Jesuit schools, this influenced deeply his mental development. Later, he used his friends and teachers from Stonyhurst College as models for his characters in the Holmes stories. He studied at Edinburgh University where he qualified as doctor in 1885 practiced medicine as an eye specialist until 1891 when he became a full-time writer. |
