DAVID HERBERT LAWRENCE (1885-1930)
- Sons and lovers - Women in love Born on 1885, he is the fourth child of a coal miner. He won a scholaship to Nottingham High School and left it at the age of 16 to earn a living as a clerk in a factory. But, he had to give up after a first attack of pneumonia Then, in 1902, he became a pupil-teacher in Eastwood and began to write in 1905. After another attack of pneumonia in 1912, Lawrence decided to give up teaching and to live by writing. |
