Born on January 1876, London, deserted by his father, was raised by his mother
and his stepfather.
At the age of 14, he left school to escape poverty. Then, we worked for different
companies, most of the time as a sailor.
London educated himself with the writings of Charles Darwin or Karl Marx.
At the age of 19, he went back to school but after a year, he decided to seek a fortune
in the Klondike gold rush of 1897. Returning the next year, still poor, he decided to
earn his life as a writer.
Most of London's books are inhaled from his Alaskan experience.
